Bio: Stanley Adair Cain (1902-1995) was Assistant Secretary of the Interior for Fish, Wildlife, and Parks, from 1965 to 1968. He was a pioneer in the fields of conservation and ecology. In 1950 he founded the Department of Conservation at the University of Michigan, the first academic department devoted to that specialty. After he left the Federal government in 1968, he returned to the University of Michigan until his retirement in 1972.
