Bio: Caroline Clendening Laise was a diplomat who served as the ambassador to Nepal from 1966 to 1973. She was married to Ellesworth Bunker, becoming the first married couple to both be concurrently serving as U.S. Ambassadors. She later became Assistant Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and Director General of the Foreign Service.
