7-31-54Am getting very brown. The surf is delightful.
Darling –
We are having a marvelous time! - Only every new scene, everything we do, I wish you were here! Captain and Mrs. Leeper (Commandant of the Naval Operations Base) met us at the plane and took us to our hotel and late that afternoon had us out to their home for cocktails where we saw Admiral Gingrich! They were lovely to us. We havn’t [sic] heard of the Consul General yet (I believe Walter wrote him.) We swam all day. Love – L.B.
