Bio: Ralph W. Nicholson (1916-1995) was Assistant Postmaster General during the Kennedy and Johnson administrations. President Kennedy put him in charge of installations and logistics at the Post Office Department in 1961, and he later took over responsibilities for finance. He served in this position through the end of the Johnson administration in 1969. In 1969 he became vice president and treasurer of the Corporation of Public Broadcasting. He returned to the Postal Service in 1972 to oversee financial operations until 1975. He retired from the Federal government in 1975, and served as Director of Conrail from 1976 to 1981.
