Bio: William Putnam Bundy (1917-2000) served on the Central Intelligence Agency's National Board of Estimates from 1951 to 1961, was Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for international security affairs from 1961 to 1963, and was Assistant Secretary of Defense from 1963 to 1964. Bundy was Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs from 1964 to 1969. After 1972 he was an editor of the publication Foreign Affairs.
