Bio: Harold Keith Johnson (b. Ferbruary 22, 1912, Bowesmont, North Dakota-d. September 24, 1983, Washington, D.C.), U.S. Army officer and Army Chief of Staff during the Johnson administration. He graduated from the U.S. Military Academy in 1933, and served in World War II and the Korean War, during which time he reached the rank of general. He served as Chief of Staff of the U.S. Army from July 3, 1964 to July 2, 1968, and supervised the Army during the major expansion and deployments of the Vietnam War. He retired from active service in July 1968.
