Darling –
You were wonderful with the Ambassadors wives yesterday. They must have left feeling they were “manning the bastions” in the face of the foe and the fate of America hung upon them. I was thrilled – and so were they and their husbands, I’ll bet.
And you were so sweet – and fair – and

good in your farewell to the Celebreezes.
Lynda and I are leaving for New York about 1:30 and returning Friday. We’ll buy fall clothes and see two shows. I hope we’ll come back dressing in a way you’ll get excited about.
Please let that second helping stay in the kitchen! Zephyr says you’ve been very good.
I love you.
L.B.
